That would be interesting to see if anyone had done that, as far as I know
it might be pretty difficult to tattoo over a scar......I have several
tattoos and I am not sure what you would even put there to try and cover it
up, some people's scars are very big, while some aren't.........after time
they all usually look pretty good from the ones I have seen!

Just to let you know that your scar with have to be AT LEAST a year old
before anyone will consider doing it and at that they're harder to find -
people to do it that is. Tattooing over a scar is tricky because the inks
don't take quite the same as on regular skin. Sometimes the color/shading
is different or doesn't take as well. And long term you'll need FREQUENT
touch ups to keep it up. Tattoos on scars fade much quicker than on normal
skin. I did a bunch of research on it myself. Have a HUGE tummy tuck scar
that goes all the way around me (hip to hip smiley fact and around my back
at my waist). So I was really interested in doing something spectacular
with it. Haven't due to cost d/t complexity with scar tissue as well as
cost due to the size. Not to mention it would be my first tattoo and I'm a
bit hesitant about having to redo it all the time - OK I'm a big wimp
(LOL!). But I was pleasantly pleased to see how very thin and light my
scar is. In some places its almost invisible. My suggestion is if you're
just starting WLS and since you have to wait such a long while before
tattooing anyhow, that you wait and see if you'll need a tummy tuck. It
might affect how the entire thing would look and plus you might find
yourself wanting it to be different with all the new scarring involved.
Just my 2c.
