Question:
Are Pure Protein bars alright to eat
It has 20g of protein and 18g of carbs. Is this too high on carbs? It says net carbs is only 1 gram. Which should I go by total carbs or net carbs. — Trin2rilax Cheryl McCoy (posted on June 28, 2003)

I lost 120 pounds eating one Pure Protein Bar a day. I showed the wrapper
to my surgeon and he said they were fine. I would stil be eating them but
I started having some problems with another medical problem that caused
nausea and my surgeon suggested that I switch to a liquid because it is
easier to digest. (The problem has nothing to do with the WLS.) I drink
Lactose Free Slim Fast - this was one of the drinks my surgeon suggested
and I like it and it's inexpensive. I have lost a total of 181 pounds and
am below my surgeon's goal for me, so I guess it worked.

You must have some carbs. The Atkins diet which is a high protein and low
carb diet says the only carbs you need be concerned about are the NET
carbs. The bars have only 1 net carb which is great. If you can tolerate
it, I would go ahead and eat it.
