Hey, just wanted to let you know that do to an error with my first psyche
evalulation that I had to have another one within two weeks of each other.
The second evaluation was with a real nice guy who has had experience
working with people who have weight problems. I am now really glad I was
able to visit with him, do to his knowledge was far better than the first
evaluation. I am a little concerned that your insurance company would make
you fly to see a doctor in their network. But, then I don't live in Alaska
and things might be a little different up there. Maybe, and this is a long
shot, your insurance company would pay for your flight!?

Hi, I would believe that if your insurance requires that you see one of
"their" doctors and they have none with in a reasonable distance
to you, that they would have to settle for another doctor in your area and
pay them as if they were "in-network" for you. You will probably
have to redo the eval, but at least it won't be in another freaking state!
That is rediculous. I have pacificare hmo, and the worst time I had with
them was getting the mmpi done. They couldn't figure out who the heck to
send me to. As a matter of fact a friend of mine who also has Pacificare
HMO picked his own psych, had the mmpi done, paid for it himself, got the
surgery approved and then had pacificare reimburse him, which they actually
did! On a happier note, once all of my paper work was done and turned into
the surgeon's office, it only took the weekend to get approval. They sent
in the paper work on Friday, and I had approval on Monday morning! Best
wishes too you!!! :)
