Question:
Has anyone experienced hardness around their incision?
I am a little over 3 months post op and there is a hardness all around my incision. I called the Dr. and he said it's normal, but was just wondering if anyone else felt this. Could it just be scar tissue forming? — Cindi S. (posted on June 6, 2003)

Hi Cindi =) I haven't had my WLS yet, but I have had a breast reduction,
and I experienced the same thing with that, I've also had knee surgery and
I experienced the same thing with that as well. I suppose it is normal,
both have a normal texture now, no denseness or hardness at all anymore and
the scars have completely faded (I really need to look to find the scars
for either of them... vitamin e lotion helped a lot with that, I think)
Good luck!! I hope it's nothing to be worried about and it's just the
normal healing process. I'm interested in hearing what others have to say
about this as well. =)

Hi Cindi! Your doctor is right. I just read an insturcion packet I got
from my surgeon's office that said that can happen. It will go away.
Don't worry!

I am a little over 4 months PO and the top section of my incision is hard
yet but it was the last to heal up and only happened a few weeks ago. The
bottom 2/3rds is flat and soft and no hard areas. Keep rubbing lotion on
it to help break up the hard tissue.
