Question:
LEPTOPRIN- Does it work? Should I try it?
Does anyone know if the leptoprin works? I'm tempted to try it but it costs 150 but I worried that the surgeon will not like me taking diet pills before surgery. — Trin2rilax Cheryl McCoy (posted on June 5, 2003)

My PCP and my surgeon said that it's great for removing weight - from your
wallet! Considering your bmi is 63, it's my guess that like most of us
with high bmi's that you've tried most every diet miracle on the
market...did any of them work long-term before???

I agree, don't buy into these gimmicks, so many people have gotten rich
selling these gimmicks to us. And we bought them! Because "I think
this is REALLY gonna work this time" we have all been there.
I did okay with my pre surgery liquid diet (I had to do a liquid diet for 1
week prior to surgery), but I think it was because THIS time it is for
real. The weight WILL come off with this surgery. Don't get me wrong, not
everyone loses ALL of their excess weight, but this tool guides us in the
right direction, and if it is used right (from the start) you will have
great success. So having to DIET for a bit before surgery is really worth
it. Buy some balloons and several times a day, sit down and blow up some
balloons, they will strengthen your lungs for surgery. (leave some in the
bathroom, living room, car (for stop lights).....)
Please, don't fall into the "diet trap" of pills that don't work.
Know in your heart that this IS something that you can do. One year from
now you will feel so much better, focus on that. Good luck!
