Question:
Anyone know of any good plus size women's shops?
Hi everyone- Does anyone know of any good plus size women's shops in the Western Mass/Northern Connecticut area? I have been invited to an informal wedding which the attire will be dress/casual. I need stores that carry up to 4x-5x, or 28-32 as styles vary. The only stores that I know of that carry the larger plus sizes are Catherine's (love them but they're pricey), Lane Bryant and Avenue. I haven't found anything in these that I like. Thanks for any responses. Mea — Mea A. (posted on May 31, 2003)

I've been too small for their clothes for a good while now, but I still
enjoy receiving catalogs from Junonia (www.junonia.com). They carry mostly
sportswear, and I like their attitude that big women can be active and out
there and unapologetically so. The clothes are rather pricey for
sportswear, but they come in a range of sizes that's very good for our
pre-ops (up to 6X, or 38-40).

Silhouettes is online at www.silhouettes.com. The suggestion to do a
Google search for plus size women's clothing is also a good one. Lane
Bryant has an on-line catalog, www.lanebryantcatalog.com and Roaman's also
has one, www.roamans.com. Good luck.

I absolutely hate shopping and I love the convenience of the Internet. I
think it's wonderful to order something and they just bring it to the door.
Such service. Try www.lbcatalog.com, www.roamans.com, www.qvc.com,
www.hsn.com, www.justmysize.com, www.silhouettes.com. Just take your
measurements, check their size charts and off you go. Almost never send
anything back.

www.plusizeoutlet.com has good prices and fairly fast shipping. They don't
always have everything you might want, but they have a lot of stuff. You'll
have to forgive the site for being a website designer's nighmare (it is to
me, anyway LOL!) but it doesn't stop me from getting leggings and skirt
sets etc. from them. Peace---terry

Lord and Taylor has a great plus size department with very classic designer
clothing. They do have great sales often and their clothing is very good
quality.

I also shop for nice clothes through Silhouettes online, as well as
bedfordfair.com online. Both have nice clothing, fairly reasonably priced.
Junonia carries mostly sporty types of clothing.

I live in Connecticut there is a store here in Wethersfield that has plus
size clothes and formal wear for larger sizes I don't know if you would
want to drive that far though. The name of the store is Trim Fashions.
Hope this might help you.

My favorite was always The Avenue...they have an online store
(www.avenue.com). Their clothes run from 14W to 32W, and are pretty trendy
compared to some of the other plus size shops.....Good luck!
