In our group, we have had a surgeon who answers questions, an exercise
expert, and a nutritionist is coming soon. If there is no speaker, we just
have Q&A's for the entire meeting. My surgery is not scheduled until
July, but in the five support group meetings I've attended, I've gained so
much information. I can't imagine going through the surgery without
attending support group meetings.

One support group here had someone from Curves come in and talk about their
program. I think they offered a discount, too. The same group had a makeup
consultant come in and do colors and makeup and fashion tips. Another
group had a plastic surgeon come and speak. These folks are speaking to
drum up business, but we benefit, too! Good luck and have fun!

Hi Ginger- A new friend I've cyber-met (Chyrl) said that her support group
has a clothing exchange for people who've changed clothing sizes. I
thought that was a great idea and planned to bring it up at my support
group :o) Mea

Hi. I help run a local support group and these are some of the things we've
done in the last 6 months.
Started our own angel system.
maintained a calendar of surgery dates and anniversaries.
Had a pot luck dinner.
Had a Clothing exchange.
Organized a fitness seminar at a local gym.
Walked in the Race for the Cure 5k.
Had the girls from wlssuccess visit with samples.
Had someone from isotonix vitamins visit with samples.
An afternoon tea.
We are planning a family summer picnic.
A night out dancing.
and so much more. The group has provided our 240 members with so much
emotional support and friendship and given us another tool for success.
