Hi...I am currently attending a support group in Lowell at Sts. Memorial
Medical Center and have information about a new group in Methuen. If this
would help, email me: [email protected].

The support group at Newton-Wellesley is open to anyone, pre-op, post-op,
and people investigating the procedure. It starts at 6:30 p.m. on the
first Thursday and 3rd Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be
Thursday, June 5. The June 17 meeting is cancelled, as is July 3, so
there's a gap until July 15. There's also a clothing swap starting at
6:00, half an hour before each meeting. Location is the Allen-Riddle
building, which is in back of the main hospital building. There's parking
behind that building near a playground. The facilitators are the
practice's psychologist and nutritionist, and one of the three surgeons is
often in attendance for at least part of the meeting. There's a general
question-and-answer period and typically a guest speaker or speakers, often
a post-op patient. It's a friendly crowd.
