How do I detox from Carbs??

go back to a liquid diet for about one or two weeks that should get ya back

Some folks in the Yahoo WLS grad board recommend three days of nothing but
protein shakes. Personally, I think that would drive me straight into the
arms of the nearest Krispy Kreme franchise. Others recommend just eating
protein foods (and shakes, if you like them) for three days, having no
carbs whatsoever during that time. I haven't tried this yet myself, but
since I had to put down my sugar-free fudgsicle (into my tub of Cool Whip)
in order to answer your question, I may be joining you very, very shortly.

I do the atkins high protein diet also to detox from carbs, but like the
others said, whatever it takes, just pump the protein for at least a week.
I'm amazed at the difference it makes, it's like my body builds up a
resistance to carbs when I'm eating too many and I don't get the carb side
effects anymore, like dumping, gas, etc...BUT let me go a week or so
without them and then just have a few too many and wow, it's like it resets
everything all over again which is great - ha. It really surprises me how
my body adjusts to the extra carbs so quickly....Lisa

I received this suggestion from the OSSG-Graduate group, and it's the only
thing that works for me, personally. For three days, eat dense high
protein foods ONLY. Lots of eggs, chicken, fish, ground beef, protein
shakes (with water) etc. Here's the key... for these three days, don't
worry about how OFTEN you eat, or how MUCH you eat, just WHAT you eat.
Your goal here is to kick the carbs, and if you're a major carb addict like
me, that means getting enough dense high protein foods to get me over the
hump. By the end of the three days, you'll feel much more in control I've
tried the protein shake only regime several times, but by 2:00 PM on the
first day, I'm diving head first into a box of crackers. The above really
works for me... and I just started a detox today as I've been eating way
too many carbs. Good luck!
