Question:
I'm looking for recipe ofChoc Chip Cookies made with sugar sub/Dr. Atkins
I want to make my grand kids some cookies this weekend They like choc chip/peanut butter chip cookies. I want to make them with sugar sub. like SugarLike or Sugarua or however to spell that. Has anyone done that and how it it work. I was going to use the Dr. Atkins bake mix for the flour. Just looking for some clues or experience with this. Want to know if Sugura works the same as SugarLike???? Please, please. Thanks for your time — Sharon B. (posted on May 16, 2003)

Hi, I don't know if this helps you or not but I have a Cookbook called The
Low Carb Comfort Food cookbook and there's a recipe for Chocolate Chip
Cookies that's very good. It uses Splenda and it replaces the flours with
Almond meal flour and all. I bought my book but you could check it out at
the Library to try. We love it! My husband is on low carb for high
Cholesterol etc....We don't do the Atkins but the concept is very similar.
Hope this helps

I haven't made cookies yet, but I have had really good luck with other
sugar free desserts. So far I have only used splenda for the sugar
substitute, and they taste good. Try the Splenda website, they do have
several recipes there. I think it's all trial and error, mix up a batch
and bake a few at a time and see if you need to make adjustments for taste.
A few times I have done used the search engine and found some interesting
recipes. Victoria Bowen also has a cookbook for WLS patients, and I have
been happy with all the recipes so far. I have also heard that we can
tolerate Turbinado sugar (I have not tried it yet), but maybe you could do
1/2 and 1/2. Good luck
