Question:
Pre Deterimination Says I Meet Medical Necessity, Does this mean I'm approved?
I just spoke to a lady at BCBS and she said that my pre-determination say I meet medical necessity so does that mean I am approved? Thanks for helping me understand. God Bless, Mary — Mary K. (posted on May 9, 2003)

Mary,
Call bcbs back and ask them if you are approved. If you are they will give
you a auth number and tell you how many days they have approved you to stay
in the hospital. I have blue cross and once I was approved thats what they
gave me. Good Luck. They were great to work with and I would say if they
told you that you meet the guidelines then you are on your way!!

Check with your surgeon's office if they submitted the request for
approval. MIne had the answer soon after submitting the request for me. But
it certainly sounds positive!
