Catherine, Congratulation on your loss. You sound exactly like me! I'm 7 weeks and was down 30 lbs at 6-1/2 weeks. You are doing fine, you are a light weight like me with less to lose and so your loss will be slower than someone with 200 lbs to lose. Someone explained it once that if we lost as fast as those with higher BMIs, we would keep losing after we hit goal. Don't know if it's true, but it made sense to me. Anyway, you are not going to fail!!! Repeat after me, "I am not going to fail"! I suggest you quit stepping on the scale, put your focus on the positive changes that are happening (more energy?, looser clothing?, more compliments?, no back pain?, etc), and let this journey unfold. I had to do this because I was getting too focused on the numbers, which was feeding my fear of failing. Now I will only weigh when I attend my support group meetings twice a month. Again, way to go and hang in there. Robin

I was 255lbs. at 5ft 3in when I had my surgery. I have been losing an average 4 lbs. a week. My surgery was on Feb.5th and I am down to 205. We are doing great.

It sounds right on track to me. I am the same height as you and started at 249. Go to the bottom of my profile page to see my month by month loss. I am 14 months out now so you'll be able to track how I did. Everyone loses differently though so don't expect your weight to track exactly like others..some lose faster and more even when starting out the same height and weight as others...

I think you are doing great! I weighed at least 100lbs more than you. Had surgery 3/12/03 and have lost 33lbs. I would think I would have lost much more due to my begining weight. So you're right on track! keep up the good work
