Question:
Why does this still happen to me?
It seems like food that I eat once or twice, the third time it won't go down and gets stuck in my chest and I end up vomiting. It hurts so badly. I chew and chew and take only tiny pieces. Why does this happen to me?? Will it get better? Could something be wrong??? — CherylS. (posted on April 26, 2003)

Are you talking about the third bite you take, or the third time you eat
the food? If it's the third bite, I would say you're overeating and need
to stop before that third bite. If it's the third time, I have no idea.
To begin with, all of this is trial and error--what agrees with you one day
may not agree the next. Talk to your surgeon about what's happening.

This happened to me also. Try to just be patient. It will most likely pass.
I experienced this for several days when I first started eating solid
foods. I went back to softer foods and semi-liquid type foods for a day or
so, and it past quickly. Also, if you are trying meats..try juicy meats i.e
chipped beef with sauce (watch the sugar, if you dump), crock pot type
meats, chicken with fat free cream of chicken or mushroom soup on it etc.
That really helps! Good luck!
