Question:
Has anyone had congestive heart failure, diabetes, and hypertension?
I'm trying to find information for a friend who wants and needs to have this surgery. After talking to several non-obese non-WLS people he is now having doubts that he will survive the surgery. I would like to hear from anyone who have had his co-morbs to find out how you are doing. Did your co-morbs go away? Are you glad you did it ? What were the worse parts of recovery? — Kimmie C. Hi Kimmie! ALL of what you have described, I've HAD. The WLS was a godsend
to me...my surgeon took me off of ALL diabetic medicines and I've not had a
problem with it since. I am still, however taking only two medicines for
hypertension. Despite the fact that I have been real active post op, for
some reason, I just can't seem to shake it. I had MAJOR co-morbidities.
Check out my profile, then if I can help you more, just email me, Okay? LAP

I had severe congetive heart failure, diabetes, sleep apnea, cancer, high
blood pressure, Grave's disease, colitis, diverticulitis and irriable
bowel. I am down 85 pounds snce 1/13/03. My conditions have just about
all disappeared. My life was ruled by repeat stays at the hospital every
30-45 days. Now I feel, look and am in better health than I have been in
over 15 years! People say
I look and act younger. I sure feel younger! My doctors are amazed. They
say I should be the poster gal for WLS.
Encourage your friend to have the surgery, you will save and prolong their
life.
