Question:
I HAVE A FUN QUESTION FOR THE LADIES

OK, so after all the weight loss, how many of you have started wearing thongs!!!!! My skinny sisters and niece all wear them. So once I lost most of my weight, they bought me some thongs. Isn't it just great to be thin!!! :))))    — Peggy D. (posted on April 10, 2003)

I started at 230 pounds. I am 5'7". I am now under my goal. My goal was to get down to about 130. I am now about 118. Yes, I did go out and buy several pairs of thongs. No matter how hard I try.....I just can NOT get used to the feeling of my underware going up my butt!!! I think they are very very sexy....but just cant do it. LOL And yes.....it feels great to be thin!!!!!! Oh yea, I have also had a tummy tuck.

I didn't wait to wear them they actually don't look too bad on me either. I have been wearing them for 4 years now I even wore them through my last pregnancy.

I don't get the whole thong thing! They are uncomfortable and I don't think ANYONE looks good in them. 99.9% of the public does not have the perfect bootie to get away with showing sooo much of it. Myself included. This is totally my opinion of coarse! My hubby would completely disagree that women are unattractive in them. I get really angry when I am trying to find matching panties to a pretty bra and the only matching option is the thong. Most of my friends and my sisters wear them. I will never understand.

Do they make a thong that my Lil' panni won't fall out the front leg holes of? They all seem so narrow in front.......maybe I'm wearing them backwards......lol......

I'm preop and most of the time I end up with the "thong look" just wearing regular underwear. ;)

The thing about thongs is that they are supposed to get rid of those nasty panty lines. I have never had underwear that I didn't have panty lines with or that didn't end up in my but anyway(less material in a thong to be in my butt than regular underwear) so that was the reason for switching to thongs. NO panty lines and men used to wonder if I had on underwear or not because they couldn't tell even in my tighest jeans.NOw with the great thong revolution they don't wonder anymore. Now some women should take a lesson from this all thongs are not created equal. I have had some that were like torture devices, the most comfortable ones that I have came from Target and are silky feeling and have lots of stretch. They do take some getting used to but I will never go back to regular underwear now.

I also love my thongs!! I wore them even before surgery just because of the 'no panty-line thing'. That was my only reason for wearing them then, now I also have another reason...they look better on me at 140. They just take a little getting used to for those that find them uncomfortable. I forget they are even there. And the answers below...you guys CRACK ME UP!!

Okay, I just have to add my "two cents"... if you have to buy control top thongs(didn't know there was even such a thing!!) chances are you probably aren't the best candidate for a thong. Not to be mean spirited or anything...it just struck me as funny..control top thongs. Also funny is the maxi-pads for thongs...way too funny!!! Maxi-pads belong with grandma underwear...period..no pun intended..ha ha

Thanks you guys. I am pre-op and was feeling kinda discouraged tonight (not approved yet) but thought I'd check the site to see what was up. All your comments are CLASSIC! It's nice to just laugh out loud. I will proudly wear my thong post-op! Allison

Why would anyone want their butt UNsupported? At least with granny panties there is a little coverage over the CELLULITE of my butt cheeks. With a thong up my butt crack, all the cellulite would be right next to the material of the pants, without that extra layer of support the granny panties provide! I LOVED the comment about the panni hanging out of the leg holes!!

I live for the day when I can wear a thong and go topless on the French Riviera. Right now I will settle for graduating to string bikini undies.

I did the thong thang until I got tired of pulling them out of my crack!!! I don't give a hoot how sexy they look, they are just not comfortable...I just discovered boyleg undies and believe it or not, my husband goes CRAZY over them and they are very very comfortable...

I have spent 39 years digging my underwear OUT of my butt, I am not going to put something in there intentionally!!

Great question! I'm still pre-op (about 260 lbs). Believe it or not, my hubby loves me to wear these when we're "getting in the mood." He thinks they are so sexy, so i have several matching thong and bra sets that I only wear for these "special occasions." I wouldn't be caught dead wearing one in public, either now or after losing weight. I think they look awful on just about everybody. I have a couple thin friends who wear them all the time, though. Thanks for the fun question!

WOW! This is the most responses that I have EVER gotten from one of my questions. I agree with the aggravatting annoyance of pulling them out of your but but I still wear them. I just wish the waistband didn't twist all up on the sides, etc. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about. Last week I discovered that I was wearing them "sideways". Apparently I put my feet thru the leg hole and the waist hole and I had the other leg hole around my waist. HAHAHA The only reason that I knew this was because I pulled them down and saw the "lined crotch" on the SIDE. HAHAHA. oh well, since I'm new at this stuff, I'm excused right? lol.

LeyAnn - You must be a "Friends" fan like me. My hubby and I always joke about going "commando." Heehee! Wearing absolutely nothing just HAS to be sexier than wearing anything, even a thong! OK, maybe I can say that with a bit more conviction after my plastic surgeon does the tummy tuck and mons pubis repair! LOL :)

I think they look like your butt is eating something.... I also think that people wear them so they can show them off- which is beyond me!? Going commando is cheaper, than showing a bit of lacy knickers that are just meant for looks, they have no real function- do they? Biggest problem I feel to come from it is the gals/young girls who are WAY too large to be wearing these things, and showing me too much of the gut/butt I don't want to see! I have that gut/butt and why they think it is attractive, I dunno!? I think the trend encourages it and sorry to be brutally honest - but it ain't pretty unless you are a size 2. I agree the boy shorts & briefs are sooo much more sexier in a swimsuits and underware. But I still cannot nor would not wear those- unless I got down to at least an 8 or below, and after a tummy tuck. Flab, rolls - no matter what they are wrapped in- are not pretty.

I'm pre-op and just bought a thong last week which I figure I'll keep trying on until I feel ready to wear it! Although I'm aware that the reality after I lose weight may be support panties for loose skin rather than thongs!

I have tried for years to keep underwear from creeping into my crack, so like many others I sure as heck am not going to intentionally put the underwear up my butt. I need support, not my butt to be bouncing all over the place. LOL All that loose skin with no where to go. :( God bless the gals that can handle butt floss!

Ooh, what a fun question! :) I love wearing thongs now that I can! They make my butt look so cute when I wear stretchy tight jeans. I must admit though, I didn't start wearing them until I had no more cellulite to hide! :)

LOL!! LOL!! You gals are great & this is a good question! The real question is how come none of the guys chimed in on this one? Don't we have any male post-op thong wearers out there? Lastly, I saw thongs in up to 5x in Lane Bryant--just goes to show ya, we can wear 'em at any size..... Ka

My friend sent me a get-well care package a week after my surgery - and in it was a purple thong size 7 and some nail polish. To quote her card: I thought you might need a few new props to celebrate... I mean the new you isn't going to settle for naked toes and grandma panties, is she? I laughed out loud - and the thong is on my bulletin board in my office to remind me of my goals! :)

Well, Karen, Peggy's question excluded us guys from answering. She posed it "for the ladies". It's too bad, too, because I was chomping at the bit to get my viewpoint in on this one. Kevin
