Question:
How much does timing of protein consumption matter?
Hey all -- I have two questions regarding protein shakes. I don't know if either matters, but I thought I'd throw them out there. 1. How long between protein shakes should you wait? I know we can only absorb 30 g. of protein at a time...but what if you wait an hour between? Just curious. 2. Should I drink my protein shake before or after working out? Does it matter? I try to wait 2 hours between mine. When I work out, I drink one on the
way to the gym, another is in my gym bag, dry & I drink that in the
locker room. And I plan a "good carb" something right after, like
1/2 a deli sandwich. Some use a high carb recovery drink, but THAT'S not
happening with me. No way. Better to calculate in one of my allotted meals
to include a carb that won't fatten me up or make me crave.
