Cindy, it's often hard to say at 10 months whether or not we are done. I am
over 10 months post-op as well and haven't lost in almost a month, but am
only 5 lbs. away from my goal. Do I honestly think it is over? no, i think
I may have to try a little harder and get off those last 5lbs. The last few
pounds are always the hardest to get off. And you can find yourself on
plateaus for weeks and months. Try doing the norm- exercise one more extra
day, eat 10 more grams of protein a day, drink more water, etc. Also try
switching up your routine- are you always eating chicken everyday? then try
fish. Our bodies get used to things quickly, so sometimes change helps.
Goodluck to you!

Thanks Leslie...I just get very nervous because I still have about 50-60
lbs to get to my goal. I will try what you said ..something different, and
eat more protein and less carbs(my downfall!!)I drink plenty of water, so I
must be eating too many carbs.

Hey Cindy,
I just had the same problem. I was on a plateau for 8 weeks and was really
freaking out. I broke mine by changing my exercise program. I was doing
30 min on the eliptical and then lifting - now I do 30 min on stairstepper,
15 on eliptical and lift. Hope this helps - I lost 8 lbs the next week.

I hadn't lost anything for the last 9 weeks...I will be 11 months on
Sunday. I was FREAKING OUT !!! I only weigh on Sunday and low and behold
this week when I weighed...down 6 pounds. The only thing I did different
last week was drank 1 extra 16 oz bottle of water and ate breakfast instead
of drinking a protein shake.

Lezlie and the others are right, sometimes just changing your routine,
whether it is the food or the exercise, eating or exercising less or even
more works. Increasing water and protein can also work, as does cutting
out some carbs. Its amazing how quickly those nasty carbs creep into the
diet-some are OK, too many are not. The weight loss is not over for you,
it just becomes WORK at this point-we all reach that point eventually where
we have to do more to get it to continue to go down. Only this time, with
our handy, dandy tool, its easier!
