My surgeon is now prescribing prenatals to his post-ops.

The prenatal vitamins are better mainly because they are higher in iron and
folic acid, which we need more of. Find out what your doctor requires as
far as iron and others, not all prenatal vitamins are the same. I go to a
vitamin store for mine, they seem to be better quality than the grocery
stores, or discount store. Good luck

Surgeons are different but mine said... "you might as well drop
prenatal vitamins in the toilet, just like any other vitamin that is not
chelated". It will not be absorbed without being chelated. But some
surgeons prescribe 2 Fred Flintstones too. I am not taking chances.
Chelated vitamins are all I take. They are absobed tremendously better
even on people who haven't had a bypass. Just my two cents.

My PCP prescribed Nutrinate chewables. They taste pretty good & my
bloodwork has come back fine...
