Question:
Anyone know how to get this blue/green dye out of my hair?

The surgery team (?) must've spilt some kind of blue/green liquid (dye) on me. Came out of surgery with it all over me. Worst part: it's not coming out of my hair. Any suggestions out there?    — msmaryk (posted on March 23, 2003)

Sounds like the blue dye that my surgeon (and probably others) to check for leaks in the pouch before closing. It's called methylene blue. That being said, I have no idea how to get it out of your hair. Have you talked to the surgeon's office?

SOME OF MY FRIENDS HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO GO SEE A HAIRDRESSER SOME OF THEM HAVE HAD THERE CONDITIONED RINSED AND SOME HAS ACTUALLY HAD TO DYE THERE HAIR BACK ITS NATURAL COLOR I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU SOME GOOD LUCK

Only from my experience as an OR nurse-we use alcohol to get the dye off our fingers and most other objects...Hope this helps!

i'm a hairstylist and i know this blue stuff is just the worst. the best thing to do it go to a salon and have them try mixing a bleach/shampoo mix on only the blue parts. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. if it fades the hair they can use haircolor to match your hair in those spots...not a problem. just make sure you ask for a color specialist....not all hairstylist are good with corrective color. good luck! fran

There is a product called Malabu that takes green (chlorine) out of my daughter's hair. She is very blond and get's that swimmer's green hair (sometimes BRIGHT green) all the time. Malabu is a product that is out on her hair for a half and hour or so (under the dryer) and then shampooed out. Sometimes it takes 2 treatments to be successful. We always go to a salon to have it done but I have heard that you can also buy it at beauty supply stores. Good luck! hugs, Ann

not knowing what it is makes it hard. as a hairdresser we used laundry soap. if that doesn't work mix small amount finger nail polish remover in shampoo. it wont hurt your hair it is used as a stripper for people on alot of medicine.hope this helps.

Hello! As a hair salon owner & hairstylist for 27 years, I know of several solutions to this problem. My first choice & gentlest, would be to go to a hair salon & buy Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo & a seperate bottle of Nexxus Aloe Rid conditioning treatment. Follow the directions. But, leave it on much longer then it says & rub it between your fingers & take an old towel after you start to see the dye loosening up & blot it. Also, lift the hair to be treated & clip several layers of paper towels under it. This way the dye won't get on the rest of your hair & discolor it as well.Keep repeating as necessary. The malibu is a fine product as well. I personaly, would use 1 of these 2 methods. Good luck!

I'd call your surgeon and tell them to get the records on the product and find out from the manufacturer what will remove it. Don't let the surgeons office blow you off...tell them what happened and that you want the information NOW!
