Call your doc immediately before your likely stricture gets worse and you
unable to dring water. CALL RIGHT NOW! Are you having troubles with
liquids? If you tell them yes they will fast track the scope out of fear of
dehydration. Let us know how it goes.

Yes, that is what it sounds like to me. I just went through the same
problem at 5 weeks out. I had the scope done this past week and things a
MUCH better! The procedure is completely pain free, and goes quickly. They
give you a drug that makes you care less and in fact I don't remember
having it done. My surgeon explained that if it is going to happen, it
usually will occur at 5 or 6 weeks. I was miserable everytime I tried to
eat. It was a pressure type of pain that was only better if I...as you put
it...TMC. So, call your surgeon and get this behind you!! :)

Hi there, I too was admitted this past Wednesday to the hospital after
throwing up on and off for about a week, and having pain in my
esophogus(?). I was totally sealed shut with a stricture! I am now 6 weeks
post-op. Don't wait for relief, also, don't think that because you aren't
throwing up everything, you don't have a stricture. I was keeping some
things like broth and occasionally water down. Although, when they did
scope me, I don't think they sedated me enough, I remember EVERYTHING.
They also told me I would probably have to repeat the procedure in 6 weeks.
Yippee. Good luck - ps the relief is instant!
