Question:
Curves Isn't Working for Me, Can Someone Suggest a Good Machine for Home Use?
I'm looking for an all around aerobic workout machine for home use. I've been to Curves several times and never feel like I'm getting a workout. I guess I need a bit more to get my adrenalin pumping properly. If anyone has any ideas kindly toss them out! Thank you:) — E M. (posted on March 18, 2003)

I am only three months post-op, but have found that an airdyne stationary
bike and treadmill are working for me.

I have a treadmill, but didn't really see any benefit until I started using
small dumbells and doing my workout with them. I have 3 sizes, 5, 8 and 10
lbs. I workout with them 3-4 times a week and have really reaped the
benefits. And spent less than $30 for the set! I'm a firm believer in
weight training now. While nothing has helped the saggy tummy, my arms
look pretty good considering I lost 140 lbs. and I'm only 4'11"! My
legs don't look too bad and most of all, I feel wonderful! Try getting the
Denise Austin set of weights from either Walmart or Kmart and give them
about 8 weeks. You may find you don't need an expensive machine. I rarely
use my treadmill anymore.

I have Tony Little's gazelle. It's similar to an elliptical trainer. I
love it. It's an easy but effective workout!

Have you thought about plain walking outside? Excellent form of exercise
and doesn't cost a thing!

try the Leslie Sansone videos. I have the 1-2-3 mile walk one. Its not as
boring as it sounds. During the last mile they use these rubber band
thingies but I use a set of 5 lb weights. I really like it and it is way
cheaper than curves.. I do it Mon-Fri.

Tony Little's Gazelle. It is a wonderful machine. There is absolutely no
impact on your feet and you can go as fast as you want. When you first get
home from the hospital just a nice stroll will do. I love it and all my
friends have purchased one after trying out mine. Good luck,

I really like the Total Gym. It's the one advertised on T.V. by Chuck
Norris and Christie Brinkley. You can have an aerobic workout and strength
train. I found it at Target and it was about 200$
