Question:
Can anyone tell me what questions I should be asking?
I am going for PAT tomorrow, Open RNY on 03/24/03, and was wondering is there any questions I should definitely being asking during this visit. My nerves are bad right now and it is hard to think straight. I was doing OK until today. Go figure! Any ideas you have I would greatly appreciate them. Thank you so much in advance. — Steph P. I would ask the doctor what his infection rate is. Sorry I don't know what
PAT is?

You will be amased at all the questions they will answer for you at your
PAT. I couldn't think of anything other than I was beginning to be afraid,
and they made me feel, relaxed and answered everything without being asked.
You'll do just fine, don't worry. I had my surgery three months ago and
everything went just fine, go in with confidence and you'll do fine. Best
of luck

Steph,
The main question I asked that I found most helpful post op was asking my
surgeon exacatly how he ensured I would not have a leak. How did he sew the
pouch, how many staples etc. I have to say, armed with this info. I have
never had a worry about a leak, not even once. I am quite confident in how
he did the surgery and that peace of mind has helped a lot.
