Question:
Where did you lose your weight first?

When you started losing weight, where on your body did you lose it first? Hips, face, middle, etc. Is it different for everyone?    — jmusser (posted on March 6, 2003)

My weight has come off from my head down. At one point I had tiny shoulders and a huge belly area, it was weird for a bit. But, my face was where people noticed it first.

I agree with Angela. For me it was from the head down. I didn't actually drop a pant size for quite sometime. My face was definitely the first thing people noticed. But then again, no one but hubby saw me naked anyway. So it's not like they WOULD notice anything else. LOL Good luck to ya!

I lost in my face first, but I always do when I lose weight. I think the face is the place where many people lose it and is more noticeable. But like you said, everyone is different. I mainly lost from the head-down like the other posters, but my tummy is the place where it's the hardest. 10 lbs. away from goal, but still have some flab there- it doesn't want to leave me! lol goodluck to you!

My BUTT! It made me so mad, cuz I had to gain all that weight just to get one, and now it's gone again. I have no butt, whatsoever! I also lost from my thighs and face before everything else. It's weird, cuz my thighs are only an inch wider than my calves.

It's deinitely different for everyone. I have been lucky that I carry my weight "well": meaning no matter what I weigh, everyone thinks I weigh less. Now, I ain't blind- I know I've got a big butt! My friends and family all said they noticed the difference in my face first. I have very high cheekbones and chubby cheeks. I noticed it in my waist and stomach first. I am 5 1/2 months post-op and down 114 pounds (with about 30 to go) and just recently have I REALLY began noticing the change myself. I work for a timeshare and not a day goes by that an owner doesn't comment. Most of these people I haven't seen in a year and some don't realize its me!! I have to walk past a huge mirror on the way to the ice machine and I always stop and check myself out. It just blows my mind. EVERYTHING is smaller! My main concern has always been my hips and man, are they shrinking! My butt is still "WAPOW", but its okay. It looks flat to me, but still big. Hubby says its much smaller, even says it's disappearing. I think he needs new glasses.....Best of luck to you!!!

From my head, neck, shoulder area, so all my shirt sleeves cover my hands now! I noticed I have also lost several inches off my waist too but that does you no good when your butt is huge! I have not gone down a pants size yet, just gotten very baggy but not down yet. Too bad, I really wish it would have started with my biggest part first. It makes me wonder if my butt will ever go away?

From the head down. The face and upper body first. Being a pear shape, the hips are always the last to go...

Face and collerbone area (weird, hunh?) I started exercising right away so my thighs and hips slimmed way down next. The stomach and upper arms I'm gradually whittling away by lifting weights 2-3 times a week. The stomach is definitely the hardest area to tone.

I have most noticably lost from my face and neck, and from my upper abdomen. Of course, the abdomen is not really noticable to others yet.
