Question:
All Post op over one year only please answer
I am one and a half year post op. Today I had a shrimp pramissan hero. I could only eat half of a half hero. Is this normal? I can still only eat 1/2 a sandwich (only if the bread is toasted) at this stage in my post op. Today I could only eat this small half. I thought at this point I would be eating more. My stomach stayed full all day. But that's ok. I can only still consume only 1000 calories a day. Again is this normal... 17 mos post. 125 pounds lost. Thanks guys. — Rebe W. I am 1 year post op and I can still only eat 1/2 of a sandwhich. If it is a
sub sandwhich like from subway I only eat 1/2 of a 3" sub with the top
bread taken off. Just as one of the previous posters said, there are some
things you can eat quite a bit of and some things you can't eat much of. I
can put quite a dent in a bag of microwave popcorn also...but breads, pasta
and rice I can hardly eat any of.

At 8+ yrs, I can only eat part of a half sub. I think it's great that you
still have that tool working for you!

I typically eat 2000 calories a day and I'm 16 months post-op. I would
think that's actually too much but I've not gained a pound. I think
everyone is different. Some days I can't eat hardly anything and then
other days I eat everything in sight!!!

Ditto! At 2.5 years post op I can't eat bread, or rice, or pasta, or
potatoes...and these used to be my favorite foods. The funny thing is, I
don't miss them. I find that I feel so good when I stick with protein and
vegetables, I have no desire for anything else. Half a sandwich is plenty.
Enjoy your new life style....

I'm 13 months post-op and can just eat 1/2 sandwich with a few chips, or if
it is a sub from Subway, 3 inches of a 6 inch sub. I hope that never
changes! As for calories per day, I usually get in more than 1000 a day
and even tho I usually don't count, when I do its more like 1400.

I am 20 mos out and can eat a six inch tuna from subway, they pull all the
inside of the bread out for me, so there is nothing left but the outter
shell, and I get let, tom cucumbers, onions, & bell peppers on it. I
usually do not eat the tail end of the sub. Other times I can eat this and
not beable to finish it. I think it really depends on what you have eaten
that day as to how much you can eat. I have not gained anyway, but have
maintained my curent weight since Sept.
