Question:
Same stats? Want to start an email group?
Hi, all. I was just curious to see if there are people out there with the same stats (same approx. ht. and wt. and surgery date within a couple of months) as me who would like to start an email or yahoo support group or something. It would be fun to share our journeys together. I am 5'2", 258#, BMI of 47ish. 37 yrs old. My surgery: Sometime in the next 4 weeks (I have to have a small bowel resection at the same time because of a mass in my small intestine so the surgeons are still coming up with the "plan"). Email me at [email protected] if you are interested. Thanks! — lindadougherty (posted on March 2, 2003)

I am now 8 months post-op, -87 pounds. My starting stats were: 5ft. 1"
253.5 pounds, size 24...Now I am 166 pounds and size 10. I do have a
webpage on here, for some reason I am having them post a new picture, so
you will only get to see a before, but feel free to read about my progress.
Good luck, you will do great!

Sorry to be a party pooper, but doing this will not be productive. It will
cause you to compare by height and weight only. Each of us is unique and
lose weight at different speeds. When we compare ourselves to other's
weight loss, we set ourselves up for failure.

It is true that we shouldn't compare ourselves to others but I think this
is a super idea. It will keep us modivated and I for one like
speaking/chatting with others that have the same stats as I do. I had open
RNY 6/12/02 am 5'1" started at 245 pounds and have now lost 100
pounds. So please count me in!!!!

hi Linda and all. I would be interested too. I am waiting for ins
approval(Cigna hmo), am 5'3", 220 # and i am 51 years old.
I would like to ask folks to please add their age to the info as well. I am
curious as to the approvals, is it just me or does it seem more and more
younger people apply and get approval? I wish we had some stats, will post
a q and a to the other message board. Robin In Va
