Question:
Protein Pills, do they exist?
I've tried the protein powders, the "koolaid" type ones from GNC, etc., they gross me out. I'm just curious, is there a protein in a pill on the market? Thanks alot! — Anne F. (posted on February 9, 2003)

I have heard that there are no such things as protein pills. The reason
being is that the protein is too dense to get it in a pill...and if they
could, you would have to take like 50 of them to get your protein all in. I
wish there was though! I hate protein shakes and bars with a passion. They
are just gross! Well...good luck! (open RNY 7/23/03 -112 lbs)

I'm not interested in Protein Shakes either, but I just use the Atkins
shakes & bars as medicine. & try to eat protein foods as much as
possible. I had a Proximal RNY & don't have major absorbtion issues
that many others do, so I don't know if this will be any help. Good luck!

All I've found today is pills that are 1 g protein per THREE pills, so 180
pills would deliver 60g. In whey proein, it takes about 1/3-1/2C of powder
to deliver 30g. It's certainly possible to be matched to a protein you not
only like, but LOVE. You could always pop onto the protein group &
check out the recipe files.

Proteinex has a pill version. They are here on this site. You take 6 pills
a day for a total of 15 G of protein. You get 120 pills fro $27.95. Click
on proteinex link. Go to the product proteinex. Click on 4webmed.com. They
are the distributor. I also take liquid proteinex since I can't tolerate
Whey and don't like soy. The pills have little taste and the liquid tastes
like cough syrup. But it's making a BIG difference for me. Mary Boster post
op since 12/27/02 35lbs gone forever.
