Has anyone gotten thinner than they ever have been in their adult life after WLS?

Me! Me! *waving hand high in the air and jumping up and down* LOL I have never been in less than a size 12 since puberty. I swear I jumped straight from a 6X to a 12. :P So a size 12 was my goal. When I hit the 12's I went out and bought clothes. Which fit me for exactly 2 weeks. Yep, I shot right past 12's to 10's. Then 8's. And finally, after being in 8's for several months to 6's. I NEVER dreamed I would be this small. I would have been happy in the 12's . . .

I love this question because I can honestly say I have never been this skinny in my life. I mean if you take into body proportions I haven't. I love saying I'm skinny.

ME TOO! I have never seen a size 8, hell I have never seen anything under a 16 until I had this surgery. It feels so great I can walk into any store and pull and 8 or 10 depending on how they are made and the fit. I can even fit into my husbands jeans 30x32. My weight now is 158 and I am 6'1.

Not there yet, but if I reach my goal of a size 8 I will remember this ? and come back and CLAIM IT! I was a size 8 for about ten minutes in 1988 before I ate my way across Europe, so it doesn't really count. Does it?

I was told my "ideal" weight is 120. At one time I weighed 125...that was in 2nd grade. I have no idea what it is like to be anywhere near a normal size. Watch out world here I come!!!! 6 more days!

I am thinner now than I was in 6th grade! My thinnest in high school I wore about an 11. When I had the surgery I wore a 24, at 8 months post op I am now wearing a 4. I would have never even thought that my skeleton could fit into a 4! My goal had been to wear a 16 again and if I really dreamed I thought a 14. When I blew by that in the first three months I was in shock.

Yes, oh yes. I think I blew thru this weight at about 8 y/o. All my life, this size stuff looked like doll clothes to me. The best I could gety dieting was 25# more than I am now. And that was STARVING.

I was a fat kid and a fat adult. The lowest weight I had ever got down to was 130 when I was 17. I was a junior size 13 then. I'm now at 128 and wear a size 7 in juniors!!

I am smaller now than my smallest in highschool. I've been fat since grade school...lost a lot of weight in my teens by vomiting up everything I ate. Gained it all back when I stopped and topped out in my adult years at a hefty 282 on a 5'2.5 frame....size 28's fit tight. Now I'm 133lbs and wear a comfy size 7/8. I did weigh about 10 lbs less in highschool but wore size 9/10. I keep hearing about denser bones caused by carrying weight, but I truly suspect the size system's been revamped at some point over the years...but hey, I'm pretty daggon happy! -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 -149lbs

Whoo Hoo !! I didn't post the question, but I sure do appreciate the answers. I'm still waiting to see my surgeon so I'm a ways off from "being skinny" but all your answers are helping me believe it can happen for me too. Thanks Angels!

I am now the same weight I was in 6th grade. I am too small to wear any of the clothes that I wore in high school! I feel wonderful and I am so proud of myself. Tonight, someone who I think has a dynamite figure told me that I'm so tiny and she'd love to have a body like mine! I actually made her repeat herself because I couldn't believe what she had said. You bet I love this surgery. 6/11/02, -102 lbs, 5'8" and 148 lbs. : )

Hi! I was 5'7" & 240 when I had WLS. I have no doubt that I will be smaller then I ever have been as an adult. When I was 18 I was 130-135 with some exptra flab & HUGE breasts. 125 lbs is my goal weight. I'm now 31 & 170 5 months post-op. I'm really enjoying this process!
