Question:
Does facial hair decrease after WLS?
I have PCOS and know that I will have that forever. However, I am curious if anyone have lost the side effects such as insulin resistance, high testosterone levels, facial hair and dark patches of skin? — Steph P. (posted on February 2, 2003)

I don't have PCOS, but I can tell you that for some reason, my hair in
general increased. Barely much more on my face, but I developed thicker
darker hair (and I'm blond) all over my tummy and it hasn't gone away. My
cheeks are a little fuzzier, not really noticeable, not a big deal, but it
has increased for me personally, others may be different.

I am glad you have asked this question. I too have pcos, and no, the facial
hair has not stopped nor decreased. I had surgery 06/2000 and had begun
menstruating soon afterward.

I think the insulin resistance will go away and probably the high
testosterone levels. I don't have PCOS, but I do have some facial hair
and, unfortunately, it has not gone away. :-(
