That is a lot. Are you pureeing all of these foods? What is the time span
that you are consuming these? If it takes you an hour then no, but 15
minutes, then yes. 5 1/2 months post-op, down 93 pounds.

IMHO- way too much food for 1 WEEK POST OP!! What surgeon would approve
such foods at 1 week? The best thing you can do for yourself right now is
to stay on full FLUIDS and PUREED foods for the first 4-6 weeks. Your
insides just had major surgery and need time to heal before you start
eating sandwiches and pretzels. You could do some damage eating that kind
of stuff too soon. Don't be in such a hurry, there will be plenty of time
in the future for "normal" foods. Take Care.

I would call your surgeon and check with him/her. I am 5-1/2 months and
still can't eat 1/2 of a sandwich. Please check to see is this is normal,
I have no idea what your pouch size is or if you were transected or not.
Dana Open RNY, transected 8/6/02 down 100 lbs.

Christine, I agree with everyone else? WHat is your post-op diet plan?
What does your nutrionst say? You should be VERY careful with your new
puch the first 2-3 wks, it is still swollen and you should be on liquids,
pureed or something to that effect.

I agree with the first poster. Are you consuming these foods over the
course of a day or at one sitting? A whole bowl of oatmeal would be lots at
one time, but not if you ate it in three or four sittings. The same with
the potato. And are you talking about a BAKING potato or a white potato? I
couldn't eat much more than 1/4 cup of food at a time for months. If you
are eating a cup or more of solid-type food at one sitting, I would think
you need to see your dr.<p>Also, I know you're early out but you need
to get some protein in. The menu for the second day is almost all carbs. Be
sure to get protein every time you eat something or you'll feel rotten and
risk anemia. Good luck!

OMG! I am also 4 and a half months out, and can't eat that much in a day,
nor do I desire that much. At one week out, you really should be on
liquids, or soft foods such as eggs, and yogurt. These are high protien and
are easy on the pouch. You are going to hurt yourself. I know how hard
those first weeks are. I did experience hunger, but to eat some of the
things you have eaten are going back to the bad habits that got you into
this place. Sooooo, come to terms with the fact that you will need to give
some things up for a little while, and start taking care of your tiny
tummy. It'll be happier, and so will you. The weight won't come off with
the wrong foods. There are a ton of great people on here who will help you
with serving amounts, and great ideas of what to eat. Please use this tool.
I'm worried for you. Please slow down, and don't hurt yourself. I'm 4.5
months out, and 70 pounds down. If you are interested in any help from me,
I'll do what I can. E-mail me. Christine
