I have Michigan BCBS Community Blue PPO. There is no approval process
through the insurance company, just through the doctor's office. They
check to make sure that you meet all the requirements for the insurance.

I have BCBS Community Blue PPO Michigan. It took about 5 weeks from when
my surgeon's office submitted the paperwork until they received the
preapproval letter. Once they received the preapproval letter my surgery
date was scheduled. BCBS paid for the entire surgery with the exception of
the $500.00 copay I had. The hospital, Mt. Clemens General, then put my
copay on a payment plan so I could pay it over 12 months.

I am now just about 4 months postop and have lost 92.5 pounds. This was
the best thing I have ever done for my health. I feel so much
better.
Good luck to you. Try to be patient. I know it is
difficult.

I have BC/BS Community Blue PPO. I had my first consultation in the
beginning of June and surgery 8-27, no problems at all. If you meet the
weight qualifications they will approve you.
