I am 5'7 1/2, started at 307 but was 297 the morning of surgery 8/16/02. I
just got home from the Dr. and today I weigh 223. That is 74 from surgery
date,(just over 5 months) 84 from high weight a month prior.
I am a real apple shape..carried most in my middle. I also have PCOS which
does ccause the weightloss to be a bit slower than average. However, I am
so happy!! I have also gone down from a size 26 to an 18.

Hey, I am 5' 8" and weighed 291 when I had my surgery. I am 9wks out
and have lost 53 pounds.I carry mostly in my thighs, butt, and tummy. I
seem to be losing from the neck, shoulder, chest area first. Although, I
have lost down three sizes in pants. So, I guess it is really all over.
People just notice the loss in my face first. Good Luck, Melly

I am 5'9 and started at 299#. I am six months post op & down about
100#. I am trying not to weigh so much so that is why I say
"around". I started wearing sizes 24/3X and now am wearing size
14/L. I also carrry most of my weight in my lower body. It seems to be
leaving from my head down, though. From my head to my waist are getting
better, but my thighs/butt/legs still have a way to go. Best wishes in your
process.

I am 5'9" and was 310 the morning of surgery. My surgery was 05/13/02
8 1/2 months ago. I am down to 185 as of this morning. Yes, everyone is
different, but if you do exactly what your doctor says and drink alot of
water and PROTEIN, PROTEIN and more PROTEIN and exercise.....you will do
just fine. Some loose a little faster than others but if you set realistic
goals...then you won't be so upset when you don't loose as much as someone
else. My doctor said it would take 10 months to 1 year to loose 100
pounds. However, some people loose 150 in 1 year.....so I set 120 pounds in
1 year as my goal....10 pounds a months. I have already reached that so I
am very happy....the weight has been coming off much slower now, but I
don't care, because I am ahead of goal.

Hi, I hope you don't mind...I don't fit your profile, but I feel it is
important for you to know that this is the real thing. I am 44 days post
op, and I have lost 41 pounds. It is very difficult for me to believe. But
its true. I even went into the doctors office to confirm on his scales.
Only very minor problems, certainly nothing to stop anyone from getting the
surgery. I am 5'4", weighted 248 on the morning of my surgery. This am
I weight 207. I was afraid that I would not loose weight as fast as someone
who had a higher BMI. I would also like to mention that I have not yet been
hungry ! Good Luck Mary E. Stewart

I am close to your stats. I am almost 5'9" and I started out at 268
pounds. At 8 months post op I have lost 120 pounds. I went from a size 24
to a 4. I lost the first 100 pounds and was at goal in less than 6 months.
I have pics on my profile, the after is a little outdated I was 6 months
post op in that picture. Read my profile for more.

Hi, Cat. I am just under 5'9. I weighed 350 when I had surgery almost 3
years ago. I lost about 175 pounds in the first year & have now settled
at 155 to 160 pounds. I wear size 8 & 10 pants, sizes for tops vary
completely from smalls to larges, although mostly mediums. I am quite a bit
bigger on top. Good luck.
