Question:
at 17 months post-op, my face looks thin and gaunt
I'm still 8 pounds above my surgeon's goal weight for me (I weigh 163 at 5'6.5", size 10). Short of a face lift, is there anything I can do about the deep furrows that go from my nose to the outside of my mouth, and the all around gaunt look? I use an alpha/hydroxy w/ retinal, but it only does so much. I think I need to stop losing as people are starting to ask if I'm sick! I'm 41 and look 50. Can you get collagen injections to plump up the wrinkles? — mom2jtx3 (posted on January 10, 2003)

Hi, I'm a skin care specialist/makeup artist, so I figured I'd post my two
cents!! Hope it helps: I would strongly recommend Botox injections and you
might want to go and see an Esthetician to see if Microdermabrasion is
beneficial for you. You need to be using a moisturizer with Collagen in
it, Try G.M. Collins Ultra Derm Moisturizer!! It's expensive, but it is
the most softening moisturizer!! :) Good luck, and email me if you have
any q's!

Ahhh...that gaunt crackhead look. Fortunately, the face will begin to fill
back out in the next 3-6 months. You'll be fine. No injections needed.
Wait it out and if you're still not satisfied, then look into PS. Save
your money! Good luck and God Bless!

Your body will regulate and it will change, be patient. I also would wait
before ANY reconstructive surgery on anything- period! Your body does a
lot of different things after surgery and in this case, time is your
friend.

Linda Linda !!
We are 2 peas in pod. We got to get together and see who has the most
wrinkles. Maybe we can go some where and get a 2 for 1 deal for our faces.
I am not ready for the lines forming on my lower cheeks. I have stretch
marks on my face. I am very depressed about it ...
Hang in there Linda hang the wrong word ... Chin up better nah that not
good either .. We will find a solution ...Dawn
