New Support Group - Chicago NW Suburbs - Any Interest?

Hi Lori,
There is a new group just started in Barrington at Good Shepherd Hospital,
only been going 2 months now. No medical professionals there either. A
social workers does run the group, they have started a clothing exchange
etc. There is also an established group in Gurnee, very good also. No
clothing exchange or anything but a good group, if any one has any

on either group.

YES! YES! YES! Please!! I've been looking around for a decent support
group that isn't limited to a particular surgical group. I live in Chicago
but am out in Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg every weekend. I also don't drive
so somewhere that could either be close to public transportation (or a
willing person to pick me up) would also be FANTASTIC!! I really hope this
gets off the ground. Please email me to let me know!

Count me in! I feel like I'm struggling by myself without a support group.
The Weight for Life meetings take place on alternate Saturdays which cut
into my exercise schedule and are also so huge it's hard to get any

Lori I think that's a great idea! I have an online support group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ChicagoWLS/ that is relatively new, and not
very active so far... I'd love to see lots of new members, and see the
group become much more active!
It may be a good place for you to join and arrange real support meetings!

I'm having mine at Good Shepherd too, so I'll probably start with that one.
But keep me posted, because I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and need
support!

I live in Park Ridge and would be interested. I had my surgery at Little
Company of Mary in Evergreen Park, their support group currently meets in
Tinley Park, and that is a litle far for me.

inquiry to the message board for a week or so. After we get a good idea of
the level of intertest in this new group, we will contact all those who
