meats down including chicken and seafood. My hair has fallen out alot more
than I expected.I drink GNC isopure morning and night mixed with water. This

Hi, I'm close to your stats...5'8" and starting weight of 298. I have
been one of those fortunate ones who has lost rapidly but it is slowing
down. For November and December I lost about 8 lbs. each month, compared to
losing 60 pounds the first 3 months. I am still losing steadily and I am
happy with about 30 or 35 pounds to go before checking into plastic
surgery. Good Luck! - Anna LAP RNY 7/3/02 -104lbs.

Hi there. I am 5'6 and started at 321lbs. At 15 weeks post op, I am now at
227lbs.- thats down 94 pounds thus far. I can eat most things now, but not
much of anything. I still cannot tolerate biscuits (too doughy) or anything
saucey such as spaghetti. I have never dumped so I can eat sweets with no
problem (though I don't do it often). I still haven't began to work out,
but will soon. I plan to lose another 65 pounds (maybe more, maybe less)
and feel confident I will reach my goal....Good luck to you!

Hi Maureen,
I am 5'8" and started out at 360. Had a Lap DS on 9/27/01 and lost 160
pounds in 11 months. I forget exactly how much each month, but I did post
some on my profile page. I was VERY happy and pleasantly surprised by the
speed of my loss, and continue to be pleased that with the DS, I can eat
anything I used to eat in the past, just a little less. IT"S
INCREDIBLE!!!!
Best of luck to you,
Barb

Hi - I was 342 and 5'7'' at the time of my open RNY 7/31/01. I am now
holding steady @ 150+ or - a lb or two. I lost the first #100 in 4mos and a
few days, the rest over the next 10mos. I have been very careful not to
loose anymore wgt - I am well below the personal goal I set for myself and
the expectations of 50 - 65% which dictates sucess. Currently wearing a
size 6 or 8! I didn't wear a 6 when I was 12 yrs old!
Best wishes!

Hi, I was 336 and am 5'8''. I was 320 at time of surgery on September 19.
Don't tell my doc, but I eat whatever I want, fatty or not and don't
exercise - except chasing 3 little children around and have lost 90 pounds
total - pre and post op. I feel great. If I feel I ate "badly"
one day, the next I will be extra good. That way, I don't feel deprived.
I always use Real Meals for breakfast and love it with milk, ice and a
banana blended together, sometimes yogurt too (in the chocolate) I
attribute some of my success to that protein shake. Write me if you have
more questions, happy to help!

on the day of my surgery, 06/06/2000, I weighed 337 and I am 5'8".
For the first few months I lost aprox 20 lbs per month. I also began
walking two miles each day at lunch from work and started using my elipital
trainer for an hour at night. Up until the eighth month, I had lost aprox
150 lbs. Since that time I have stopped some of my good excercise habits,
and have gained aprox 20 lbs, which is normal and nothing to worry about.
In addition, I hit quite a few plateaus along the way and each time I
thought that would be the end of my weight loss. However, usually within a
week or two, I would begin to lose weight again. There are many people who
have lost far more than I have, and they have reached their goal weights. I
am ok where I am, as this was my weight for much of my youth.

Looks like I'm a slow loser compared to everyone else - 5'7" 319
starting - surgery open RYN 7/29/02 - down 80 pounds. But I am 47 and have
a thyroid issue and I must admit I didn't exercise every day - although I
have improved in that department lately.
