Ok another question about food
Today for dinner I had Popeye chicken, I was able to eat two wings and cacun rice and one bite of biscute. Im 14 mos post. Is this too much to eat at this stage. I don't eat like this all the time, but today I wanted it. How much am I suppose to be eating at this time. BTW, for breakfast I had coffee and an bananna and that was it all day til dinner. Is this too much food at dinner. I was stuffed.....Thanks guys — Rebe W. (posted on December 27, 2002)

Nutrician, nutrician, nutrician. Regular mealtimes. Anything else, is
eventually going to effect your health, energy, size.

I don't think you ate too much but you made some poor choices. Where was
your protein at breakfast and lunch? Oh, that's right - you didn't eat
lunch. The only protein you had all day was two chicken wings and that is
not a good choice. I don't think the wings will hurt you occasionally but
you need to do better the rest of the day. My surgeon told me NO bananas -
way too many carbs and not enough good food value. He approves of any
other fruit - just not bananas. Be careful with rice and biscuits - I had
some rice from Popeyes - with crawfish etoufee - and ended up in the
hospital. It had formed a small blockage and got my pouch really irritated
to the point that I couldn't eat or drink anything - dehydration came on
really quickly. Ok - so much for my lecture. Don't worry about a one day
thing but DON'T SKIP MEALS AND GET YOUR PROTEIN. This is a lifetime
committment.

First of all, I just have to say, "I looooove Popeye's!!" That
being said, the best choice I have found is getting the 2-piece and
requesting chicken breasts (which they will do if you ask) and peeling off
the skin. The meat alone on 1 piece is 2-3 oz. If I finish all the meat,
I'll let myself have 1-2 bites of the biscuit. I've only gone twice since
my surgery in October, but both times I avoided overeating simply by being
careful. I do, however, agree with the other posters about getting more
protein thruout the day. Have you thought about adding a protein supplement
like Jarrow's or Procel to your morning coffee? They are tasteless and you
probably won't notice too much difference. Also, my surgeon said no bananas
so if I really want one, I limit myself to 1/4; that usually does the
trick. Hope this helps.
