I have a really bad cold and cough. What type of cough syrup can I take
that won't make me dump? 4 months post op. - 57 lbs — jojo63 (posted on December 19, 2002)

At the pre op key program, the surgeon said to use Robatusson sf (sugar
free) for diabetics, and also make sure it is alcohol free too. Btw
congrats on the weightloss.

I had a horrendous cold and cough at 1 month post. My doc told me
robitussen clear (it is sugar free). If the cough gets very bad, you can
ask for a rx for Tesslon pearls. They are tiny yellow pills, and work
wonders! (I am allergic to many meds, including codine- which is the usual
cough suppresent)
Hope you feel better soon.
