Question:
Do I have a choice in type of surgery DS vs RNY

Are there any Kaiser members who wanted DS (duodenal switch) instead of RNY and were able to get it? I know LA Kaiser has contracted to UCLA and Pacific Bariatric in San Diego, but on duodenalswitch.com the only surgeons listed in this area are at USC. I'd like either operation, although the DS is favored. Also, do I have a choice to go up to No CA for surgery. All my family is there and it would work out better than SD. I don't know all the answers to your questions, but I do know for sure that the ONLY surgery that Kaiser No. CA does is the RNY...no DS up here.
