First off you are where I am, after lossing 114 lbs.. It has been said
that lighweights do take longer to lose, but they still lose. What is your
goal weight, and have you talked to your dr. about what he expects you to
lose???

People that start at higher weights lose MORE early on because they have
more FLUID to lose. They're not necessarily losing faster when you compare
what a lightweight has to lose overall with what a heavier person has to
lose. I was 276 and 5'8", and have lost 90 lbs. in 7 and 1/2 months.
I think I'm losing pretty well, and am actually right on schedule per the
charts. I'll be at goal weight well before a year out from surgery. Hugs,
Joy

Hi, I started a little heavier at 287 lbs. I'm also 5'7, I'll be 7 mos. out
on Dec. 23rd and I'm down 110 lbs. I feel really happy about my weight loss
so far!! although I haven't lost anything in almost 3 weeks. I guess my
bodies playing catch up..lol.I'd like to lose another 40 lbs ( My dream
weight is 135 ) I think I can, but I expect it to take another 4 mos.
Still, I'll be at goal in under a year! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

I am 5'6" and weighed 253 before surgery. I am 5 1/2 months out and
have lost 81 lbs. as of this morning. I feel wonderful about my weight
loss and am very pleased with the amount I have lost so far. I still
continue to lose 2-3 lbs. a week. Remember though that everyone is
different and everyone loses at a different pace. Good Luck!

Can I just say I am sooo jealous of Linda A. Proud of her, but jealous
none the less...grrr...: ) Anyway, I had surgery in April and I am hanging
out at about 80lbs. down (from 255 to 175). I know you want stats for
those at 350lbs. plus, but hey...everyone else is sharing. Good luck to
you!

Yes, you are a lightweight. Those with BMI's in the low 40's, and usually
250 pounds or so( a little more if taller) and under are considered
lightweights. You will lose weight at a slower rate than those that start
out much heavier-its just the way it is. The point to remember is that you
will still lose weight and much more rapidly than if you did Weight
Watchers or another conventional diet.
