Question:
Tummy Tuck & Scar Removal

I FOUND A HERNIA this past week. I am scheduled to see my surgeon January 3rd. If he chooses to repair it, I am hoping they will do a Tummy tuck at the same time. My question is to those that have had Open RNY and a tummy tuck. With the Tummy Tuck, were they able to get rid of the scar form the Open RNY. It would be nice to get rid of it if I have to go through another surgery anyway. Thanks!    — Sandra C. (posted on December 17, 2002)

No, my TT did not get rid of my RNY scar. In fact, the rny scar became larger, longer anyway. Where before the TT my RNY scar ended just below my navel, it now runs all the way to the TT scar line which is just above the pubic area. That is because the skin which used to be above my navel was pulled down to below my navel, along with the scar that is on it. sorry.
