Question:
How many grams of sugar, carbs, protein per MEAL?
Hi. I am 11 days post op. I am wondering what others find is their usual amounts of sugar, carbs and protein they average per meal. I will be embarking on *real* food soon and would like to know what's most likely to work. Thanks everyone. — Katie E. (posted on December 2, 2002)

Our protein arrives via supplement, no milk, no sugar. The soild food was
controlled by volume. 1 oz meals, every 2 hours or so. Total sugar for
the meal 6g. We only count ounces, sugar g out and protein g in.

My protein arrives via real foods - zero protein supplementation. I keep
sugar to naturally occuring sugars only...and never add sugar (or use
products with added sugars). So with that said protein is at about 60
grams per day - the amount my doc recommended(I don't keep a per meal total
running), carbs at 20 to 30, and sugars under 6. I DO drink milk and was
eating every 2 to 3 hours in the beginning. Now it's more like every 4 or
5 hours. You will find there are many many answers to this question, bases
on each persons own philosophy and that of their
doctor/nutritionist/dietician. For best results, you should consult the
one you chose (and are paying) to help you along this journey.
