Question:
Headaches after working out.....
Hello all. I have been working out 3 times a week doing water aerobics, and I have really been getting my heart rate up there! For the last few weeks I have been getting really bad headaches that start about 15 minutes after I am done working out, and it goes away about an hour or so later. I am having my protein shake before I work out and I am getting in plenty of water. Any ideas?? Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks! Renee D — Renee D. (posted on November 26, 2002)

It's probably your breathing. There is a personal trainer at the gym at my
job. I was getting headaches too and it turned out that what they tell
about about inhaling and exhaling has a purpose.

maybe you are getting your heart rate TOO high? I don't know...but I do
know that if I get going too much, I can really feel the pounding in my
head, and when I check my heart rate, it's above the maximum for my age.
I've read that the best workout is when your heart rate is 65% to 85% of
your maximum. Maxiumim is 220 minus your age.
