Question:
I am 3mos post op. I have a swelled up upper abdomen?

hi there :) im wondering if it may be a hernia? not sure. but i would suggest calling doctor asap. better to be safe.hugs to you and i hope all is well for you :)

YOur profile doesn't say if you were open or lap. An incisional hernia is common in open patients...Contact your doctor first thing tomorrow to make sure. It may be nothing, but if it is a hernia, they need to document it. Good luck!...Karen (lap rny- 9/20/02- down 72 pounds)

I remember reading about a gal on the message boards who had a similar "condition" and while I don't remember the cause behind it, I know she saw her doctor and was darned glad she did.

I am having surgery on Dec 4th. Had pre-op on Nov22 someone ask about that.Dr grant said it was air that may come from your c-pap or swallowing air may in rare cases make your stomach swell up. Go call the Doctor as soon as you can. Even better go to the emergency room. Take care

I had the same thing after my VBG. A pocket of fluid had collected and it bulged out. It was about hand sized, and looked like a small football under the skin. The doctor drained it in his office. No pain! Let me know what you find out. Make sure you call the doc and tell him about it. Good luck and take care. Marilyn
