Question:
i am 1 week post op and can not git rid of the icky feeling
it is worst in the morning, have tried starting my day with cream of wheat and that help alittle. I got very sick off soup, so i am not able to stick with that part of my diet. So i moved myself onto soft foods, that has also helped alittle, but it is still there. Also i am so very thirsty, but nothing works, anyone know a cure????? — Tracey M. (posted on November 20, 2002)

congrats on your wls! :) hopefully soon your ickys will pass.with time as
you heal and adjust to the new way of things and experiment with what types
of foods you hold well, it will get better. i was so thirsty it was
terrible. i also ended up with real dry skin and bad chapped lips. i was so
scared and took tiny tiny sips constantly like the surgeon suggested but i
still couldnt shake the thirsty thing.try to get as many fluids in as you
can maybe even chew on some ice cubes or a sf popsicle. i liked crystal
lite lemonaide alot too. once you are able to take bigger sips that will
help. it takes a bit of arranging and adjusting to get used to the eating
and drinking schedule. best of luck to you! :)

Congrats on making it to the losing side! At 1 week post
op I had that icky feeling too. It will go away, you
just need to give your stomach time to adjust. I found
that I had to (and still do at 9 weeks post op) just test
what foods/liquids worked for me. You might try making
Crystal Lite popsicles or slushes to try to get some
of your liquid in that way. You will feel better soon.
