Question:
Have any women bled excessively vaginally after surgery due to blood thiners??

I had a lap rny on 10/11. This first cycle is a real killer. It seems to
be much heavier than normal. My guess was it's because of the blood
thinners. I'm also guessing that it's not permanent.

Hi Wanda:
I have always had bleeding problems, but prior and after surgery was the
pits. I bled from August 20th, surgery was August 21st, until September
5th. My next period on October 5th was the most painful in recent years,
but lasted the regular 5 days. On November 5th, I had another period which
was painful, but no where near what October was. By the say, I never had
severe cramps before. Seems as if your cycle gets all out of whack after
surgery. Hope this helps.

I had this problem, but was explained to that estrogen is stored in fat
cells, so when you body starts to get rid of your fat cells, all the
estrogen gets dumped into your system and that is the cause of the
extremely long period. Mine lasted 26 days and when it did stop it wasn't
on it's on, the GYN and my surgeon got together and put me on Provera for
10 days just to give me a break. We'll see what happens after my 10 days!
