Question:

It's happened to me twice during the first 3 months postop. A scope is an
endoscopy, whereby doc checks esopaghagus down to where pouch begins and
possibly dilates the opening so food can pass through more easily. You
sleep during the procedure and cannot drive afterwards due to the
anasthesia, but it worked for me. I believe about 10% of postops go through
this minor problem.

Were you reading about me? I had this done on Tuesday. They stick a tube
with a camera on the end of it to see where they are going and then put a
'grabber' in to either push it thru to your pouch or pull out the
obstruction. Not a pleasant experience but I felt much better after. Could
finally eat and drink! Learned my lesson: Chew, chew, chew!!

BTW, I was AWAKE during this unlike the other poster. They said they would
give me something to almost knock me out. Whatever it was, DIDN'T WORK!
Must be resistant to it.
