Question:
Does yeast infection go away after weight loss?
Has anyone found that after they start losing weight, that any existing yeast infection under the "apron" or under the breasts goes away?? How much did you lose before you noticed a marked improvement? Thanks!!! — Sue C. (posted on October 21, 2002)

I have had this problem for years and it is usually brought on by stress.
Anytime I'm under a lot of stress I develop a yeast infection under the
apron. I have lost 151 pounds in 10 months and had one just last week -
precipitated by the death of a close relative. I don't have them as much
as I used to - I think this is the 4th since the surgery but I do still get
them. Having lost so much, my apron hangs lower than it did before
surgery. I am planning on solving the problem in January with a tummy
tuck.

I have found that the yeast infections are actually worse. Why?? I am
exercising more and sweating more in those areas, so it is moist more. I
use the medicated powders in those areas, and it seems to help. I am also
working on plastic surgery to hopefully help. Good Luck to you.

Anytime you have skin lying next to skin, you have the potential for this
problem, so it probably won't go away as you lose weight. On the positive
side, keep track of this and make sure your PCP or surgeon documents it so
you can get approval for skin removal later on.
