Did you know that MOs are at a very high risk of colon cancer? My PCP says its likely from a high fat diet. This cancer runs in my MO family. He believes the lower fat post op diet will reduce this risk. I sure hope he is right. My surgeon says that the RNY does not increase the likelyhood of any cancer.

My surgeon said that we are at a "slightly" higher risk of blockages or kinks in the intestine...but not because of the surgery. Because we were MO to begin with and lost a lot of weight. Comes with the territory. Also eating a mostly protein diet puts you at higher risk of blockages. Make sure you take something to keep you flowing. I found adding a few extra carbs to my diet get me going :>)
