Question:
What is papaya enzyme used for?
What is papaya enzyme used for? Will it help with excess mucus in the morning? I am having a lot of trouble keeping food down, feels like it is stuck. And before any of you sugggest it, I AM chewing my food VERY VERY well. Trust me, I see it every time it comes back up!! And there has NEVER been any large chunks. Will this help with this feeling? I am getting desperate. I do know that I have a small exit (sorry, don't know the proper name, stoma?) hole, because at 3 weeks post-op I had a tiny pill that had to be retrieved. The gastro. doc that did it said it was a VERY small exit, and I should lose lots of weight, but that I was going to probably have problems, and might need it dilated in the future. Anyway, when this feeling starts, would this papaya enzyme help?? I would really like to only see my food once for a change!! --Desperate in IA — Terri Z. (posted on October 14, 2002)

It aids in digestion. It taste good too! I am not sure if it will help
with your problem. It mostly works in digestion of food after it is in the
stomach.

I too had a hard time with food intake and food coming up or just not going
down at all, I had to go to a gastrointernist and have my opening
dialated-it was a short procedure, kinda uncomfortable but not too bad.
Things have been much better since. Hope this helps
