Question:
I have read that ketosis is usually obtained right away post-op, So what
could this be? I am now about 11 weeks post-op and the past couple of days I have had an aweful taste in my mouth. It makes everything I eat or drink have a bitter taste. It's horrible! This couldn't be ketosis just starting this far post-op could it? If not, then what could be causing it? I haven't really had any trouble post-op. And am really happy with my weight loss so far, almost 60 pounds! So I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of what could be causing this and how can I get it to stop? Please help! — Laurel C. While you may have been in ketosis the whole time, it may only be now that
the taste has shown itself. Same thing happened to me on the Atkin's Diet
a few months back. I was showing in ketosis on the sticks, but the nasty
taste didn't rear it's ugly head until about 3 or 4 weeks later. I suggest
Velamints, brushing your teeth a lot and Listerine :>) Good luck!

I am only 3 weeks out but I have been in ketosis ever since a couple days
after surgery. it does cause a weird taste in your mouth for me t tastes
like I have been sucking on an iron pipe. You can buy keto sticks to check
to see if you are in ketosis at your pharmacy.
Good Luck
