Question:
I am 5 weeks post op. I drink 30-40 oz. of water a day and have been
trying to get all my protein in. I lost 27 lbs in 3 weeks and now I've gained 2 lbs. WHY?? The most I can eat at 1 meal is about the size of a fish fillet from LJS,(Which I don't eat there) but thats the size. I walk 15-30 min a day. What am I doing wrong??? — jojo63 (posted on September 11, 2002)

My only comment would be that you are not getting in enough water...a
MINIMUM of 64oz of water (or crystal lite) is needed. Please don't skimp
on this. How many meals are you eating?

Just because you gained weight, doesn't mean you gained fat. It could be
water weight (which happens at certain times during your menstral cycle),
or it could be musle. I wouldn't worry too much about it for now. Increase
your water and see what happens. Oh, and your weight can also read
differantly at certain times of the day. Weird, huh?

Don't worry about it, it happens to everyone. I eat two bites of food at a
time approximately 6 times a day, which means I get in less than 700
calories a day. So you can imagine how surprised I am when I gain a pound
or two. It will go away! I tell myself to keep doing the right thing and
eventually the weight will go. Do not get caught up in the weight gain
issue if you know you are doing the right things!
